We pulled out the original* carpet from our 2000 19 footer so that we can put in some allure flooring. One thing that looks iffy to us are the pipes and wires that extend between the dinette benches at the rear wall of the trailer. The pipes are pex supply lines (hot and cold) for our side shower and the included sink. The wires appear to be all wiring for the curb side of the trailer, or at least close to it.
The pipes and wires were all covered by the original carpet, sort of an extra flap of carpet that just extended up the wall a couple of inches. With the allure flooring I don't see a similar solution, so I was wondering what others have done to protect these items from being kicked and stepped on while sitting at the dinette.
We have a bit of pipe foam, the stuff you use to wrap exposed pipes to keep them from freezing. I think that would protect them, but it may be a bit bulky. Really looking for the collective wisdom of the board on this one.
Thanks,
Keith

The pipes and wiring usually are just tucked under the wall covering either the rat fur or ensolite. You can secure your wiring to the shell with hot glue. Casita places a board at an angle between the floor and wall and screw it in place to the floor with two screws. Or you can hot glue a flap of rat fur to the wall to cover things up.

Let me see if I can find a good pic of what I did with a trim board on that solution. Just completed it last month and it works really well on covering the pex/wiring run between the benches.
If you look down at the base between the benches you'll see an oak trim board. The beauty of it is that no attachment is required. It is cut longer than the width of the space by about 4" and then it just simply slides into the notches on the benches that are made for the wiring/pex to pass. Slide one end into one side until it clears the other bench and then slide that side in about 2" and done. Carpet is trapped behind and covering over the pex/wiring, then held into place with the trim board. Also finishes out really well if you have the deluxe, you can do a finish on the trim board to match whatever you'd want.
