Beautiful! Love the Oval

I see they are going to bring it to the US eventually.  I love all the curves.  I get tired of being poked with sharp edges.  It some what reminds me of the Oxygen (I think that is the name) on the outside.  The price is higher than I would probably pay but looks to be worth the price.  I don't know, it just seems that Europe and Australia have the neatest designs and the US, not so much.

Prolite RV's

Before I bought my Scamp 13, I was really wanting a Prolite Profil Plus S.  Prolite is a Canadian company that also has a distributor in Canton Michigan. They are a bit expensive, but they seem to be light and airy looking. They have a factory tour and build video on YouTube.  Take a look at these and let me know what you think of these also.

Roulottes Prolite

The Prolite is a trailer quite unlike any other.  I've watched the factory tour video and yes, we looked them over very hard, on two occasions at the Canton MI dealership.  I don't believe it is quite fair to dismiss these as "stick built".  Their construction is sandwich panels and the techniques used by Roulottes is really second to none in being a well thought out, high quality construction.

We just didn't see the comfort, or warm fuzzies inside.  It seems spartan on the inside to our tastes.  Yes, they are also quite spendy which is likely the result of being imported from Canada but also the result of the high quality build.  It also doesn't help that there is not widespread dealer network in the US for competition either.  They are extremely light and very aero in design as well.

What will become of them?  Who can predict.  We shall see.

Stick Built

Interesting, but that appears to be a "stick built" trailer and not molded fiberglass. Your Scamp 13 will be on the road way past when one of these will be in the junkyard. You made the right choice between the two.  yes

I agree Greg. Replacing a

I agree Greg. Replacing a rivet now and then is absolutely no big deal, and rather fun. Yes, the molded fiberglass is the way to go. Just ask one using a 1974 13 out there, having fun with it too.

Have you seen the factory tour video?  Have you seen one in person?   Gosh, being a fanboy for fiberglass is cool, but give something new a fair shake too.  Just my $.02

I've not seen the barefoot caravan linked to in post #1 so I'd have no thoughts about it.  Lots of innovative things being done elsewhere in the world with caravans, that is for certain.

I so think Scamp has a way to

I so think Scamp has a way to go to modernize the interior more for Scamps. I think Casita has a edge up on Scamp for brighter, more updated interiors. Both will be around for a very long time. I just love what owners have done to make their Scamps more useful and more attractive. I have gotten great ideas and have acted on them as well.

Prolite

Yes, I did watch the video, thoroughly go through the website, and saw the frame up construction process which is why I was able to conclude it is "stick built" construction and not molded fiberglass. That isn't a negative connotation, just a classification on how a trailer is constructed. Having had extensive experience in both "stick built" and molded fiberglass travel trailers I think that the longevity and maintenance issue between the two types of trailer construction is well documented so that is a fair assessment to say that between the two trailers, I believe you made the right choice in terms of longevity. I'll also add that your choice will pay dividends down the road on resale value as well as molded fiberglass trailers retain a much higher resale value.  yes

Anyway, it's an interesting trailer for the right buyer and I hope they do well.
