13ft. Standard or deluxe?

I am a week or so from placing an order for a 13ft. Aside from cosmetics, what options are either available or not available if I should choose to go with a deluxe package. I'm looking for the extra large bed and the front bunks. Does a wood interior give different options with cabinets because of the extra structural strength that comes from wood?

Does anyone know the approximate wait for a new scamp? If I place an order in January, would I likely have a scamp in June?

Thanks for any help you can give!

decisions, desicions

prairieboy,

I have not seen a Deluxe 13 with front bunks listed as an option,  however, they might build one for you. The larger bed is nice but there is a cost in space.

A major consideration should be where will you do most of your camping.  If the vast majority of your camping will be where 110 volt power is available. You might not need a furnace or fantastic fan, but the refrigerator would be nice as would the air conditioner. If your style is the boonies a fantastic fan is almost a must and the standard ice box will suffice. The bath is a trade off.

I'm not at all sure that the Deluxe models are stronger than the Standard models.  I think the wait for a new 13 is well in excess of 3 months.

13 Deluxe

Last October we were able to order a 2015 13 Deluxe with the front bunk and the larger bed. We love it.

Call Scamp Sales at 1-800-346-4962 and ask for Jim Coffland; tell him Rich and Val gave you his name. He will tell you what options are available and how long the wait list is right now. We found him to be very helpful in getting our trailer just the way we wanted it.

Here is a photo of ours with the birch interior. You could leave the front cabinets out to have more room for kids in the top bunk.

August delivery

Hello - I finally placed an order for our 13 footer yesterday, December 14.  It is a 13 foot standard, Layout 1 with the wider bed.  The sales person Wayne told us we would take delivery in early August... so there is about an 8-month lead time at this point. Plus the prices go up a bit on January 1.

BCSNAVE - No we didn't talk

BCSNAVE - No we didn't talk about the Deluxe at all in Backus, a Deluxe wasn't in our thoughts at all. When we were in Backus we looked at a number of trailers, including the Deluxe.  The wood cabinets are very nice looking.  You will be very happy with it.  Congrats on your purchase and delivery in just a few days.  If you are looking for lunch/coffee after your pick up I'd recommend the Lakes Latte Coffee Shop in Pequot Lakes.

Happy Camper!

You will really enjoy it. August is a good time to be camping in  Minnesota.  What options did you choose?

We have an older 13 Std.  I don't know where you home is but, I would encourage you to pack lightly for the first trip.  It's so easily to overstuff a 13 footer.

Thanks for the replies, and

Thanks for the replies, and tip on packing light  We went with Layout 1.. the one that sleeps 4 and has no bathroom.  We have 2 Grandkids ages 4 and 7, so this will be perfect.  Options include Air Conditioning, Furnace, Trailer brakes, awning, ceiling fan, bike receiver, vinyl floor, side cabinets, exterior GFI outlet, Sani-potti and the 54" wide bed.  We live in Minneapolis, about 3 hours drive from Backus, MN, so we can go get it in August.  Really looking forward to this.  We intend to camp 100 miles max from home, generally.
