Wiring a new 12v water pump

I've looked and see one other post for this, but it did not answer this question:

Where do I connect the wires for a new 12v pump in a 2005 scamp that has not had an electric pump before?

I have a simple on-off-switch water pump with two wires.  I know how to wire the switch.  I just need to know where do I connect the pos & neg wires to the fuse box or another hot wire?

Can I just splice in to the pair wires that go to the exterior light and add an in-line fuse?

Thanks!

Water pump

Where are you locating the pump and the switch??

Factory on the 13, the pump is mounted under passenger side rear bench right by the water tank. Switch is located on the rear side of the lower kitchen cabinets. Switched positive wire comes off the switch and is pulled down the side of the drivers bench across back wall to the pump location and is wired to the positive lead of the pump. Ground side can be pulled from any 12v run under passenger side bench.

Run a pos and neg wire from

Run a pos and neg wire from the battery terminals with an inline fuse. you can run it off another run, but it's not exactly the proper/safest way.

Pump Power

I just took mine from the nearest wire I could find. It happened to be a wire for the light next to the sink. Never had a problem.
