Wire Transfer or Cashier's Check?

I'm going to be selling my 16' Scamp within the next couple of months.  I was just wondering what method people found works the best for selling their Scamp, a wire transfer or cashier's check.  I'm kinda new to this. :)

Wire Transfer

I personally only will go to the bank with the buyer and initiate and verify wire transfer to my account. Bogus cashiers checks are not unheard of nowadays. You'll need to find out what bank the buyer uses and discuss with your bank their process with wire from that institution.

I have accepted cash on the weekends, but always a bit nervous with large amounts of cash. Also, cash transaction is best done at the bank so the teller can scan and count the bills in and you don't have to transport it to the bank.

I recommend cash.

When I sold my trailer in April of 2021, (I currently have a Scamp on order) I had a buyer that was coming from out of state. I told him that he could bring me any type of check that he wanted as long as we together can take it to my bank and the bank says it's good right then and there with no waiting for it to clear. Since he had to pick it up late on a Saturday it was cash only. I wouldn't trust any kind of a check that couldn't be immediately verified no matter what it says on it. I have no experience with wire transfers.
