We just picked up are new scamp last month and wanting to sanitized the water system before using or is it really necessary if it's for showering only. I just want to make sure where the buy pass is located and if it's opened or closed from the factory. Where is it located and since I'm sanitizing the system is it a good idea to include the water heater.

Water system sanitizing on new scamp
On my 16' scamp it is under sink. there is an inline twist thingy right on the pex pipe. you just twist it and it shuts off water to the water heater. On mine it was open, For the first three years that i had it, i always wanted to shut it but did not know where it was , Looking around one day i found it and twisted it and it shut the water off to the HWH. 6 gal of water goes about 50# so we helped with weight when in tow.. Can I dump some 100 proof vodka in the tank and lines to keep them from freezing? Or will it eat at the plastics of the system?
100 proof vodka is said to freeze at approximately -40.43C or -40.78F and is some times sold in plastic.
Yes, so true. Thank you for reminding me. I remember the "pink" stuff that was used years ago for winterizing, didn't like it.
If you're fillin' your water system with 100 proof, you're gonna to be seein' pink stuff. Elephants.
