We can choose to tow a new Scamp 13 Standard (without toilet or shower) with either a 2009 Buick Lucerne V6 or a 2000 Volvo V70 (station wagon). The Buick book says not to exceed 1,000 pounds, although U-Haul says it rated for 3,500 hitch, and Volvo specs say it can haul 3,500. Wife would prefer comfort of Buick. Has anyone had experience with Buicks or Volvo? Any thoughts? Thanks. Great to be new member.

Towing with Buick or Volvo?
The car specs are the one to go by. The hitch may handle 3500#, but it doesn't sound like the Buick will handle the 1200# + weight of the Scamp.
Check with your Buick Dealer for the Towing Specs on your specific vehicle. Your V6 has plenty of Power and should be able to pull more than 1,000 lbs. U-haul definitely knows towing and they have very good resources for their towing information.
It may be the case that the owner's manual says that your Buick is limited to 1,000 lbs because you need to add a Transmission Cooler to your vehicle to allow you to tow the 3,500 lbs that U-haul says your Buick is capable of towing.
I would plan on towing with the Buick, at least until I was completely convinced I could not use the Buick.
As Always,
Happy Scamping !!!
