Toilet bowl seal

Hi folks,

I've had my 13' for about a year but am using the toilet for the first time. When I flush, it leaves a small amount of water in the bowl. I assume that's to help seal it from tank odors etc. However if I check back in a few minutes the water has drained out. I remember reading a post here about the seal on that flap but I can't find it. I've tried making sure to release the flush pedal quickly to try to seat the flap but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Suggestions?

update: I greased the seal and that seems to be working for now

i also notice that the seat top goes all the way back against the wall. There's a plastic piece sticking up behind the seat but it doesn't stop it from going all the way to the wall. That can't be right.

Thanks!

Tom

Seat back

Our 2019 also had the seat back rest on the back wall.  It is not uncommon  with RV toilets as there is nothing else to stop it like a toilet tank or ledge.  It does not seem to have any negative effect on ours so far. But never travel with the seat or top up.  Our bowl seal also leaked into the tank occasionally  if I picked up on the flush lever after flushing it seemed to help.

Bumper

Thanks.

I think I'll add one of those stick on rubber bumpers on the wall where the seat hits. May not harm the fiberglass but I'll feel better with something there.

Toilet bowl bumper on the wall

I did what Tom suggested several years ago and it has worked well. White rubber wall bumper glued to the fiberglass.
