As Scamping Season arrives, I thought it would be a good idea to create a list of things we all forgot to take with us and really missed while Scamping.
In our case we forgot to take a Can Opener with us on our first trip.
Also, being from Florida, I forgot to take a coat with me even though we were headed to a colder climate.
What about you?
What did you miss?
What did you wish you had?
Happy Scamping !!!
I think the can opener is the classic. I always keep one specifically for camping now and it was either in the trailer or with the tent stuff. Once we forgot the dog food. Food issues where you have not all the items needed for the meal. And, too often, special goodies we bought just for that trip like cookies or something. I know there are checklists, good ones, but it is so much work getting things together that taking an inventory just makes it more exhausting. You really can ive without a lot of things that you think you can't. OK, batteries and electrical cords for items we were taking is another thing I am trying to get ahead of.

Forgot the Weber 50060001 Q 1000 Liquid Propane Grill
one trip and we had baked potatoes, chicken, steaks all stuff to grill for the trip. Had to go back to Boy Scout days and do a campfire cooking lesson with coals and foil.
Actually, it turned out to be the best week of meals we've had and go back to campfire cooking once in awhile when we have time now.![smiley smiley](//cdn.ckeditor.com/4.4.0/full-all/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)

We had just a ball last year at the Dollar Store. We stocked up with a full kitchen of goodies so as not to rob from our home stock. Head to you local Dollar Store and have a ball like we did!

Also, we just got our gas grill from Camping World, works on a 16 oz. propane bottle. Will be fun for table top cooking!

Our problem was always that if the can opener broke in the house or some other tool broke, well, there was one in the camper. Of course, we didn't remember to replace it. I did solve the can opener problem by buying special ones that last for years and are money well spent versus hungry and looking at a can with no way to open it.

I keep two grills in my Scamp. One is a Cobb grill. The other is a coleman Grill Stove. Both are handy in their own way. I also have a Coleman colapsable. oven that I can use on the Grill Stove or if need be in the camper on the stove.
A of these are small so they don't take up much room for storage in the camper.

We now sport a new gas grill on sale from Camping World! It folds up nicely and easy to transport. Yummy foods to make this towing season!
