What kinds, models, or manufacturers of surge protectors do you like or recommend? Do you not use any? I am leaning toward the Hughes Autoformers PWD30-EPO.

Great reading... note, this does not include the PW that I prefer, I liked it for the higher joules and the shut off feature... an EMS...

I think most any of the cords that have good specs will work, however, I wouldn't put too much money in a corded surge protector as they do "walk" from time to time. The more expensive they are the more prone to a quick theft.

If you put $$$ in a surge protection system I would recommend it be an internal hardwired EMS unit.

I worry about where to install hardwired things in a Scamp, the size and space! I guess I'll find out! I will lock up what I can, but as they say- that only probably stops the honest folks. In all my camping years, I have never had anything stolen (KOW). Glad you liked the article, it was very informative.

An interesting comment regarding corded and theft of units. I did not know why the one we bought had a steel ring securely attached to it and is likely how one might lock it to the post. . I will have to look into this as it was around $100 and would be a real bummer to see it grow legs.
2019 Scamp 13 standard
I used a hasp to make a simple cable lock for our power cord. At least someone would have to cut the cord.
I have chained the suppresser to the post and/or locked the box. I do not like locked electrical boxes, but I do not like stolen 400$ suppressors either.
Cord lock is a nice solution
