My 2014 13' Scamp started this year with a very sticky and frankly stuck silverware drawer. I contacted Scamp and they sent me the new drawer kit with bearings to install. I am not sure where to start to do this project, They said it attaches to the stove base, Do I have to take out the stove to do this? Please advise me the best way to make this modification. Thanks in advance. Dick

Silverware drawer
Hello,
I recently had to fix my silverware drawer on my 2014 Scamp 13'. The drawer came loose from the stove after the shakedown trip. The drawer looked like it was separating from the counter top. I just simply removed the stove top with two screws which exposed the screws securing the silver ware drawer to the surface. After a few turns to tighten, problem was solved. The same should apply to remove and install.

Our original drawer was getting stuck whenever humidity caused the waferboard to expand. We followed someone elses suggestion and built a new drawer using a wire silverware basket surrounded by a pine frame, and use that now. It gives a little more room for silverware, and is ventilated too. We re-used the original Scamp hardware, but had to widen the opening a little. The Scamp sliders slide on a piece of waferboard (we used a wider plywood replacement) that is suspended under the stove and held on with screws that go through the bottom of the stove.
One of these days I hope to get all our doors to match!
