Hi all
i am on the road and I have a problem with my shower gray water pump. I can hear it when on, but it doesn't pump water
I disconnected the hose on the drain side of the pump and water drained freely. I'll be filling up with checks further along the line and past the pump. But wondered if anyone has a tip that will guide the troubleshooting. There is a a small black cylinder next to the pump and it looks like has a screw off cap on the bottom. Perhaps a strainer/filter? I haven't opened it yet because if it's removable , it's on very tight and I'm hesitant to force it and break it.
any tips from your experience?
you can email me at ernieseevers@mac.com with tips
Most likely your strainer is stopped up. You will need to unscrew the cover and clean the screen.

Yes, it is a strainer and it is hard to remove the first time. Mine quit pumping, I ordered a new pump but never used it because it started to pump again after I filled the shower with water. It was like it had lost prime. I was lucky that it was rainy weather and I pulled the hose from the drain and ran the water on the ground, and no one noticed.
Thanks folks, it was just that : a clogged strainer. The picture helped. I had to use channel locks to remove the cap to clean it
now it's all good
im having a great trip from Seattle down into the desert. Went to LA turned left and stamped on thru Cali desert and then Arizona . Now at Kartchner cavern next stop Chiricahua. Traveling with 2 other scamps. Only seen one other scamp.

Put a little silicone plumber's grease on the O ring and you won't have to snug it up so much as well as be easier to remove next time it needs cleaned.
Great idea. Thanks!
