Scamp Big Bed, How Does it Work?

Can someone tell/show me how the add-on piece of dinette table works on the Big Bed option? The parts department told me it is just an extra piece that lays down at the front of the lowered dinette table. Is it supported at the front edge? In our standard bed, Joy likes to sit on the front edge of the bunk with her legs dangling, but doesn't like that the cushion is not supported to the front edge all the way across.

Thanks.

It is supported.

OK - so on the big bed, here is how it works, sorry I don't have pictures, but envision your rear dining table with the two bench seats sitting across from one another. Each of those bench seats for the entire length of it have a little groove in the front as they face one another, so when you fold the dining table down it fits right in that groove. Then there is another piece of wood, the same thickness of the dining table that you put in that fills the remaining bench, i.e. once you fold down the table and put in the extra piece of wood, the entire length of the two dining benches have a base for the bed, and the cushions fit it exactly, so there is no hanging over. My kids sit all the time on the edge of the bed with their feet dangling down while I put their shoes on them (so they don't walk all over the floor with muddy shoes!).

Thanks, Gwander

Thanks. I was wondering if there is any additional support to it, as it is a fairly narrow piece of material, and could have a couple hundred pounds on it.

The cool kids play outside.

Yes, that crosspiece in front

Yes, that crosspiece in front of the dropped dining table does have hardwood supports attached on the underside.
