rough ride

I have a new axle and tires on my 81 Scamp and am towing with a Tucson. On the highway I barely know its there but on bumps I seem to hear and feel a lot of clunking and squeaking. Is this normal and I need to get used to it or is there need for concern?

Anti rattle

Sound as if you have issues with your coupler or stinger. Your coupler may need adjustment. There is a nut under your coupler where you can tighten it up tight on the ball. The other issue could be your stinger is loose in your hitch. E-trailer sells several anti rattle devices to tighten things up at that point. If things sound loose it is a good Idea after you hook up to jack the trailer up after you are attached to the car to make sure the trailer will not uncouple from the ball. Lower and stow jack before towing.
