We're considering replacing the door seal on our Scamp 19'. I've seen comments about having to add a shim when doing this. Where does this shim go? Does Scamp provide it? Any pictures available? With a new seal can you close the door without using a shim? Thanks for any info provided.

Replacing door seal on Scamp 19
On my 97 19 Scamp I put the new door seal being sold by Scamp Trailers. Can't rave about it enough, it is finally a good solution. I did not have to shim, but some do. It was tight at first, but is fairly normal operation now after being on the trailer for 6+ months. If you do have to shim, it would be adding washer(s) under the lock on the interior of the door so the door latch will catch.

I replaced the seal on my 2013 16 STD this spring. I did not use a shim. It is tight but getting easier as time goes by and temperature goes up. The only hard thing about it was removing the adhesive that held the old seal on.
