Hi,
I am looking at Dometic refrigerator model DM2672 for my 19ft scamp. Here is a problem I am facing. The refrigerator dimensions are too big for the Scamp's door width opening of 22 inches. Will removing the refrigerator doors will do the job? I could not find any dimensions of the refrigerator without the doors. I haven't bought the refrigerator yet so I cannot do any measurements forehead.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

My 2004 Scamp 19 has RM 2410 Dometic fridge. I may have to replace is at one point and inquired at Contact Us on the Scamp web page. This is what they told me: We replace the 2410 with a slightly smaller RM8501 3.7 CF. Extra trim has to be used to cover the gap around the unit.
I hope my fridge lasts a long time, so I do not have to replace it. My 2410 no longer runs on AC power, only propane, which is OK with me, and I want to postpone this job as long as I can. Maybe I should become more diligent about finding out why the AC mode failed. How would I get the old one out is also a good question, but if it has to be cut to size, so be it, but it also has to be disposed of properly, since it has ammonia in it.

Looking in the manual for the RM2620 has created more questions as to how the refrigerator was installed. width is listed as 22-23/32 with a recess dimension of 21-13/16. Perhaps there is enough wiggle room from flanges on the sides of the fridge to get past the door opening.Depth is slightly larger so turning it sideways will not help. My suggestion would be to contact Evelands and ask what refrigerator model they are installing and how they do it? I'm hoping to have to avoid replacing my refrigerator also. Good-luck with the project
