Remove roof AC and instal Maxxfan?

Hello.

I have a 2004 13' Scamp with an AC unit on the roof. I live in the PNW and never use the AC. It has recently started leaking.

I was wondering if anyone has removed their roof AC and installed a Maxxfan in it's place or if anyone can offer any tips about this.

Thanks

Update: I removed the AC unit and installed a Maxxfan. It fits perfect.

A/C leak / Fan conversion

LEAK: If you remove the inside A/C cover you will see 4 larger screws and nuts. If you tighten the nuts you will put more pressure on the A/C base gasket, a lot of times stopping the leak. If that does not work the next step is to replace the A/C base gasket. This is for a leak when not operating. If you have a leak only during operation it is a condensation leak. You will have to open up the top get to your evaporator coil and clean your coil and drain.

Fan Replacement: The A/C opening is usually the same (14"x14") as required by the fan. Your A/C uses 115VAC and your fan will use 12VDC, You will have to adapt your wiring to carry the different voltage.

NOTE: Be careful  on tightening the A/C inside cover screws. If you over torque them you can break through the roof.

AC removal

Does anyone know if nakizo was successful in removing the AC and installing a fan? I posted the same question about AC removal in 2021 and did not receive a reply as far as I know. I already have a FantasticFan so would just like to put in a skylight, but was afraid of creating leaks.
