Refrigerator clearance

Greetings. In my 13' Scamp I currently have an icebox. I plan to purchase a mini-compressor refrigerator to replace it. The model (Costway 54 Quart Portable Refrigerator) I have in mind is 27.5" deep, while Scamp supplies a Dometic RM2193 which has a depth of 19.3" Does someone have knowledge of the actual depth of the enclosure from the opening to the trailer wall? Vents are on the side so I'm confident of sufficient venting, At 21" tall I'm hopeful of being to slide the refrigerator in/out of the enclosure.

Many thanks for your input.

Sorry to see that you've gotten no help as yet. I've a Scamp on order for October pickup, and certaiy think you have a vaild question.

The 1.9cf 3 way units do not have great reviews here, and some barely cool at all, according to their owners. A compressor type is certainly worth checking into, and I've started looking at chest types which pull out on rails.

These chest types are made by Dometic, ARB, etc., and are not cheap...up to $1k...but why waste money to start?

They also say they are real freezers, to -20...Dometic, on Amazon lists several units less than 27"long, but all have to be pulled out to open. They all run on 12v. only.

I hope to hear from someone with experience here!

Thanks

Thanks Larry for your reply. We will be back in the US in July when I'll be able to test this out. For power, I will using a lithium iron phosphate array (12 v/180 Ah) with 160 w solar. I'll keep you posted.

Fridge Opening

Dometic 2193 Specs

If I recall there was maybe an inch from the rear of the Dometic fridge to the wall of the 13 Scamp when installed.

Your biggest issue with a compressor fridge is draining battery when in transit or boondocking. Shore power, good solar/battery bank,  or generator, they’ll work great. One review on the Costway mentioned it pulled three 100w battery bank down to 75% overnight, won’t hold up on stock Scamp battery.
