My wife and I were trying to figure out the funky smell in our '93 16' and figured out that was caused by residual RV pink antifreeze. But- when we went looking, we saw the cardboard shield/wrap-around under the sink that had a bunch of mold spots on it. That can't be good! (I think it covers the holding tank for the sink water) Is there any reason to keep/replace this moldy cardboard? What's its purpose?

Purpose of cardboard 'wrapper' around tank under sink?
I answered my own question- the cardboard envelopes insulation all around the tank. (So now I'm wondering if/how I replace it, or if I paint it with Kilz or something like that.
