Pondering a major remodel of a 16'

I'm considering a major remodel which would include a full double foam fold out bed. The bed would fold out from below the back window toward the front. Thinking of moving the kitchen to the front, losing the bathroom (never use) and doing custom narrow stotage units on side walls. My first question is about ceiling support. What is necessary? I have read somewhere that the little twisty wroght iron things are providing essential support.True?

Ceiling Support

True: They provide support for the upper cabinets which hang from the ceiling (and upper side wall).  Whether they are essential for an upfront kitchen is an open question.

Homebuilt Plans

This site may help, sounds like the layout you want. You do need center support mid trailer. Leave closet by the door and maybe the bath closet. or at least use the  walls as patterns for braces. I was thinking you could use a futon mattress for the rear bed.
