Well its time to start on the trip home, its been killing us having something new just sitting in family members driveway all this time since we picked it up Oct 29th...so will be leaving this afternoon making our long journey home to Nv from Ks...hopefully everything will work as its supposed to:-)
Wow! What a combo, great looking truck and a brand new Casita! Now your ready for untold and first time places, new experiences, and new stories ! So happy for you two.
its a new truck too Doug and only has 3600 miles on it now,had 600 when we left home ,so have two new things we need to get used too all at once :-( vechicles arent like they used to be when all you had to do was get in and turn on the keys and put it in gear.Trips going much better then last time when we picked up the Scamp and I am glad to report the door has not swung open once lol...
Yes, our 2012 Ford Escape has a multi page information screen for many modes of mileage, trip lengths, and gas mileage. Took some getting used to, to know how to cycle through the screens. We love our Escape, but there will be a new tow vehicle in years to come. We desire a newer very low mileage tow vehicle when my bride finally retires. Here is our baby in winter stance !
Doug it just kinda looks sad sitting there with her boots on the tires knowing she cant and wont be going out anywhere for sometime....As anyone can tell you, thats reitred and lives in the southwest, that is just not a problem with us.Other then we must go home and check on our house we could go almost all year long. Yes our Escape Limited had all that stuff on it that you spoke up but did not have the factory tow package,On this truck when we plug in the trailer,it knows, and just wants to change the whole dash around and tell me only things about the trailer,it doesnt think that I can see I am towing a trailer behind me ha.....I dont like it.Dont get me wrong I love all the bells and whistles but would have wished for less of them on this truck, but this is just what it came with. Can still drive us nuts tho :-)
Launey and Earlene: Congrats..... Nice looking setup! Any comments you are willing to share on the interior height of the Casita? My wife and I are looking to upgrade to a 16' egg. Thanks.
Been out of touch for a few days, the headroom is about 5ft 9 in on the 16 ft Casita, hubby is 6ft 1/2 in and just has to bow his head a tad which he says does not bother him,he is not up standing for long when we're in here. Its a great choice for us,we ordered it not ever having saw one in person so it was like Christmas when we picked it up and we weren't disappointed
So glad you enjoy your new toy! The headroom in the Scamp is easy for me at 5 ft. 8 inches, and my wife Dawn is 5 ft. 2 inches. The headroom does seem higher than 5 ft. 9 inches. We purchased our Scamp never having been in one or truly seen one! We just knew it was for us and we so love it. We cover it this weekend for a final touch to winters long grasp.
