We spent 6 days dry camping in Colo at the Colorado Monument above Fruita, they were in a heat wave.It was over 100 each day and about 90 at night.Federal campgrounds say no generators after 8pm.so it was quite toasty in the Casita. He opted to sleep in the 6X6 Glam we had just bought. He had flown in from Ks and so had none of his camping gear but he went down to Grand Juntion and bought the neatest folding camping cot and put it in the Clam (I think he was more comfortable then us old folks inside! We put one solid flap up on the screening to block the sun so it didn't blind him in the mornings. All and all we all had a goof week.We are at KOA in Flagstaff now and don't need no AC.....Son left us a couple of days ago so it's just the two of us and the dog,but pretty well liiking this 62 degree weather.would surely love to take some back home to Vegas with us Friday

New Clam and older son
Glad to hear you're out and about and that your son could join you. Weather has been really cool in the AZ mountains last couple of weeks and lots of incredible monsoon storms. Stay safe and enjoy the cool weather in Flagstaff. If I recall that KOA has ice cream socials and movie nights during the summer.

We had pretty damp weather while we were there, but not bad enough to keep us in.I didnt see anything about ice cream or movie nights, but we pretty well stayed on the go while we were there, just running around.Sure was a shock to get up to 55 degrees and then come home to 105. Getting ready to leave tomorrow on a car road trip but will be back in the Casita when we return for maybe a trek up thru Ore and down the coast of Calif before company comes in Sept.Looking forward to seeing everyone this year at Sedona,I must get that booked soon
