A few years ago, we were returning home from camp in North Dakota, and stopped at the Scamp factory just stretch our legs and say "hi." The next evening we camped in Iowa, It was a little chilly so I turned the furnace on and it wouldn't light. I was one day from the factory and need to be home and not happy. The next day we continued on homeward.
At home I started to chase down the problem, my battery was low, had my battery failed ,was my converter dead, didn't know. So, I removed the left rear bench pad.
The problem was plain to see, in pulling the power cord in and out on the trip, i had managed to unplug the converter. (Didn't have enough voltage to activate the sail switch.) I plugged in the converter, problem solved. So, now when we plug into power, we always check the converter plugin and try to avoid nasty surprises.
I post this hoping that it might help someone in the future.

An eas thing to have happen and worth a quick check.

Bob,
You found one of the notorious fail points. Many Scampers have lost power out scamping and it turns out to be that plug has fallen out. I recall several Scamp owners did some mods to prevent that happening, but don’t recall what they did. Maybe someone will post up how they resolved this.

I used screws and 2 zip ties to harness the male plug to the converter so it can't back out. The screws went into the cabinet frame by the converter.
