I have been a Scamp owner since 2016. My first was a new 2016 13' Scamp. Loved it, no problems, just the screen door. After selling the 13' I picked up a 2019 16'. Then the problems started. rivets popped, screws backed out after every trip. Cabinets, moldings, heater grill and frame screws. The electrical panel breakers 120v popped every time from all the bouncing by the end of a road trip. It tows fine. I always check the air pressure in the tires before a trip and have the wheel bearing greased periodically. The electrical brakes work fine. The curb side tire wore down to the core after 3,000 miles. I replaced both with new wheels. Recently I notice abnormal wear on the curbside tire after 2500 miles. I called a reputable brake and wheel mechanic, described my tire problems. He said that he had replaced the axle on a couple of Scamps with the same problem, a defective torsion bar axle. I have an appointment with so he can evaluate the axle, photo the ID # and call Lippert, if he finds it defective.

Lippert torsion axle on 2019 16' Scamp
Interesting, it does sound like an axle problem. Curious what the mechanic finds.
The mechanic found the Lippert axle to be defective. Photo ID serial on axle and registered info with Dexter. He said he has had the same problems with other Scamp owners axles and had to replace them with Dexters. Scamp blew me off, told me to deal with Lippert. Apparently they are not interested in the quality of their parts and unwilling to help their customers rectify problems. Photo 2/22/21 after less than 3,000 miles.
