Laid Scamp on pavement; coping with insurance co

A major swaying event, downhill with wind, resulted in a 200’ ride on the side for our poor 2013, 16’ Scamp. A repair shop is prepping an estimate, while the insurance co. considers its value. It is fixable, but we’ll need a realistic value & settlement. Anyone with experience/ideas on how to educate insurers on how Scamps hold their value? (Best I’ve found is fiberglass-RV-4sale.com — lists prices of trailers sold on their site.)

It sounds like you and your

It sounds like you and your tow vehicle are OK, which is the important part. Have the hitch and its attachment to the TV carefully checked out. Where did it happen - I70? 285? - the descent to the plains can be really hairy.

Laid Scamp on pavement; coping with insurance

Thanks, Paul-O. It could have been so much worse.

We were westbound on I-70 from Colorado, just over the Utah border. Coming down a hill, and the wind hit us from the north.

Scary Stuff

We are with paul O. and glad that you sound safe and well.  but shaken. We lost our Motorhome and the Toad last year in a multi car pile up last year and the ins company was pretty fair and it could have been worse. We escaped without a scratch but are now stepping from a 26 foot motorhome and toad vehicle to a Scamp 13 and subaru tow vehicle. .
