Getting to know our Scamp

I am one of those people who gets annoyed by pretty minor stuff.  I'm not unhappy with our Scamp, I just want it to be ship shape.  Today's question relates to this interior trim piece (see photo).  We have the front bath/side dinette 16'.  This trim piece runs down the partition that separates the side dinette from the bed.  At the point where the table intersects it's too tight and the trim piece pops loose.  Anyone else have this issue?  Would it work to cut about 2" off the backside of the channel at this point?

Glue

Not familiar with this particular location, but can the trim piece be glued on with maybe a Gorilla glue product?

Thanks, I love Gorilla Glue

Thanks, I love Gorilla Glue but not in this application I think.  The U-channel is just too thick to fit between the table top and the wall. I was wondering if others had this issue and tried cutting away the back side of the U at the point it intersects the table/wall.
