As long as you sleep in the lower bunk, you will be okay. It is a little snug, but if you sleep with your head towards the door you should be okay. Do not attempt to sleep in the upper bunk as the max weight is 150 lbs.
I always sleep on it. I have a 4" memory foam cut to size that I store underneath. Very comfy for me--I am 5'8" and can stretch out. I think it is about 6' long. I do not like messing around with taking down/putting up the dinette for a bed.
I removed the screws that hold the sofa back/top bunk in place. It can still be used as a sofa back but not as a bunk with the screws removed. By removing the back, you do not need the support poles in your way when sleeping on the bottom bunk. I keep it as a bed full time. But I'm a big time backpacker, so I'm used to sleeping on narrow mattresses.
I just leave the back in place...I suppose I could get a couple more inches depth by removing it for sleeping, but it works for me. I DID remove the back once to take it to the person making slipcovers for me. As I recall, it was not a fun job! Plus the back is nice and soft to wedge against.

Good luck!

Great to hear it can work for additional sleeping space.
Thanks for the tips!
