Hello all. Can anyone point me to a guide on a new install of a power converter? Or walk me through it--just got an older 16’ Scamp with totally separate A/C and D/C lines, which I would like to tie together with a converter to charge the battery, etc. I have this converter: https://wfcoelectronics.com/product/wf-8735-35-amp/ and from what I've read I either need one 30-amp breaker and two 20s, or three 15s. Is there anything I need to know going in? Any help would be appreciated––I've found lots of info about changing out converters, but nothing about putting one in from scratch, and if I can avoid paying $100/hour to a shop that'd be great.
Thanks!
Because no two Scamps are alike, you will be on your own. The breaker size for the loads however is dictated by wire size, not load. If your Scamp has 14 ga wire, the maximum breaker size will be 15 amp.
