Tires create a lot of smoke. Apparently, the fire involved a few stored tires. Also, Casita has released a statement that declared the fire was minimal and extinguished quickly enough. Smoke clean up for sure, but production was said to be resuming quickly with no delay in delivery of customers units. This small incident in no way compares to what Scamp endured 10 years ago when their entire facility was burned to the ground and all buildings and equipment had to be replaced. In comparison, Scamp lost almost an entire model year of production, 2007 model, IIRC. I'm sure folks awaiting Casitas are thrilled and relieved. Just so happened, we were at the Corsicana facility browsing trailers and talking with Jonathon on the workday before last weekend's fire.
Doug was going to tell you that when you and Dawn take off to the south,go by the Casita plant and check it out.tho we love the new Casitia, the factory is not as nice as Scamp was last year when we bought the Scamp. But thought you might like to just stop by some day
Well, we won't be going at fr south this year. We have made many mods to our beloved Scamp, it is nothing short of a deluxe Scamp! We shall be the envy of other Scamp owners when they see ours! We shall be living with it for years to come!
Doug, when you have a chance, could you post a pic of the fold out step you had added? I can't go to the factory so might have to fab something myself. thanks! Philip
Looks like it was yesterday, but not much info on damage.

Yeah, saw those pics already, lots of smoke coming from the roof of the building. Does not look good.

Scamp sells a fold out step on their website. Haven't installed it yet
It's a simple weld any welding shop can do.
