Occasionally I see pictures of our scamps with aluminum wheels and they really seem to dress the ol Egg up. Does someone have a spec or listing for applicable rims/tires. I know we have 13 inch "C" rated tires but so many sizes and wheel offsets are possible. along with different lug bolt circles possibilities. . We will be at Scamp Friday the 24th early to pick up our new 13 standard bath and shower. I would love to dress this new beastie up.

Fancy aluminum wheels
With 13" tires I guess you have a new S-13. The wheels are 5x4.5 lug pattern with 0 offset usually 5" wide. there have been many recent build changes in the S-13 but the stock tires were 175 tires. If you put larger tires on a S-13 you may have to remove the black body trim and trim the fiberglass shell for more clearance on the edge of the wheel well. I also heard the axle was changed from -10 deg. to 0 deg. that should give more wheel well clearance. I usually buy my aluminum wheels from Eastern Marine in Del. they usually go on sale or 10% off every couple of months and they are located fairly close to me. Rims are available at other vendors on-line.

Good information. yes we will pick up a 2019 13 standard with shower toilet next Friday. I will have to decide if I wait and do the Wheel upgrade in a couple years to have fresh tires or bite the bullet and do it now to enjoy the look. I do not think trailer tires typically keep well with the storage and non use so 3-4 years is about all I feel I trust them. The cost for a tire is easily a cheap maintenance factor considering the damage and inconvenience of a major failure. I spent the majority of the spring repairing the severe damage to a Wheel well and interior cabinet on a previous camper
Thanks again

We jumped in and put some Jaguar aluminum wheels on our new S13. I transferred the tires that came on it that were supplied by Dexter and had them balanced. I noticed the information on the sidewall stated "L" and I believe this is the speed rating now. I also looked this up and "J"=65, "L" =75, and "M"=81. These are max speeds and not really sustained speed at high temps or under inflated or near max load. I read many places that 60MPH is max . Is there something different with these new Radial tires? We do not normally travel above 60/65 anyway pulling the trailer.

Here is a picture of wheels I put on a 19' Scamp about eight years ago, bought wheel & tire mounted from e-trailer.
