Cabinet screws Loose

Had an issue with cabinet screws getting loose so I added a solid board for screws to fasten to I think the issue was they are screwed into chip board. Fastened board with four screws two from top and two from bottom.

Heard of other people having same issue.

Loose Screws

Those screws have come loose on our scamp also. I solved the problem just by putting caulking on them. Then screwing them back in. Your solution may be better and adds strength to that area.

Caulk, good idea

Yeah, I think I'd do that first. Partly because I don't have the tools or skills to make significant physical modifications to my Scamp, but also because I've made an effort to be sure my Scamp can be restored to as close to original condition as possible, should I ever have to sell it. Plus, I used to do a lot of sailing, and every screw was to be set with caulk. It's just a habit when you're working with fiberglass.

Loose Screws Fixed

We had the same problem when our Scamp was new.  Used glue and re-inserted, problem continued.  Balanced tires, problem solved.

Screws don't hold well in

Screws don't hold well in particleboard, l drilled out the screw holes to 3/8" And glued dowels in the holes. Screws don't work real well in end grain, but they held until I made new doors of Cherry.

New doors of cherry?

Are your new doors' hinge screws still set into the end grain? Just wondering how the door material affects the screws' holding power. Maybe the new doors are lighter.

The screws for the cherry

The screws for the cherry were not in end grain and they were noticeably lighter than the particle board doors of a standard Scamp.

Same issue for me too

I have this issue every time (in the same place as you've described above) I tow my Scamp.  I also had a wheel that was out of true that caused a bunch of rattle and roll problems.  Got wheel replaced, and that helped.  But most of the screws under the sink work their way out, and yes, it's a particle board issue.  I've gotten bigger (wider) screws and I'm going to put them back in place with caulk.  Hope it works.

The caulk should help some,

The caulk should help some, but screws don't hold long term in particle board. Drilled thru holes and bolts, although inelegant is a better long term solution.
