I bought an awning from Marti's Awnings, very well made and fairly easy to set up.  You will have to install an awning rail on your Scamp.  However, the one I bought was heavy canvas and made for shade only.  I have to admit I have never used it--I only go on very short trips and I love to sit in the sun here in MI!  I think they made some out of more waterproof material if you are looking for a dry spot to sit.  I would think the water would collect in the awning as they are not rigid.  My friend has the factory awning on her 16' Scamp, there is no comparison regarding sturdiness, etc. but also considerably more in cost.  This is the awning--super cute but not great protection from the elements.
