Greetings,
My 1996 Scamp 13 with oak interior is to be delivered soon, and I'm dreaming up ways to reduce weight. I've got a 1500lb towing capacity. Please don't respond with advice about getting a better car; it's not gonna happen.
I'm going to pull the refrigerator from this sucker, and I'm hoping to take out the oak cabinets too. I've got the ones across the top on both back sides. Anyone know how much those weigh each???
Cheers,
Steven
No idea, but what I'd recommend is you take it over to a commercial scale and weigh it so you know exactly what you are dealing with. Every Scamp weighs different and if you're gonna cut it that close then you should know exactly what it weighs to begin with. Then as you remove things you can weigh them on a bathroom scale and start subtracting if you even need to. The deluxe 13 has a range on the spec sheet of 1300-1600 http://scampowners.com/new-13-deluxe-scamp-travel-trailer-specifications-floor-plans and you might luck out and be at the lighter end of the spectrum and not have to do anything except pack carefully.
