Thanks for your help ...We used medium bristle scrub brushes , sponges and tooth brushes and turtle wax and hot water and also alot of good old fashioned Elbow Grease
Amazingly enough the gel coat still has most of its shiny surface unfortunately either the factory or the original owner added cabinets above the dinette and the awning bracketts that have rusted and stained the sides and back and have run down the trailer and stained the gel coat , open for any info on how to get the rust stains off the gel goat I have it in my shop now am working on taking the appliances out and working on the interior will keep you updated...
Looks like I will need to be buying a new hot water heater amongst many other things are there any whole sale or discount RV parts places that anyone might know of
Thanks Steve

I have had reasonably good luck using Lime Away to remove rust stains. At one point they made a "Gel" version of Lime Away and it was great for soaking the rust stains away, otherwise, soak a paper towel and place it on the rusted area and let sit for a long time.
Recently, I used Lime Away on rust stains in some grout lines, the Lime Away did not remove the stains, but it broke the stains down so I could soak the grout lines with Clorox Clean-up and the rust stains disappeared.
The Lime Away is an acid based product so the Gel Coat will probably be compromised wherever you use it.
Note: don't let the two chemicals mix when wet, rinse between the two products.
Oxalic acid is used to remove rust stains from gelcoat. If the rust stains are running down from rusted hardware Y-10 a gel rust stain remover is good, you just brush it on let it set a while and rince it off. It may take several applications. West marine has their store brand and I know of one other gel type rust remover. Barkeeper Friend also contains oxalic acid and great for removing stains from gelcoat but you have to scrub it. It is better for surface stains. The Gels work best on deep stains and they are usually found in boat stores.
Thanks for the photos. They look quite similar to mine. (I now have the interior work finished on our 1974 13' SCAMP restoration.) I trust you are enjoying your project, as much as we have enjoyed ours!
I was able to save the dance floor , by getting away with just doing a replacement piece repair....
I also was able to successfully repair the steps the pictures right now are before the fiberglass coating and shoots....
I had to put Scampy on hold for a little bit to finish some other projects that needed
my attention. Next in line for her restoration is the axel still not sure which one to order and from where ? any more suggestions ? We are looking for a 4 lug axel with drums if this is not available ...
I would like to get an axel with just a spindle that will fit my backing plates, brakes, and brake drums...

Wow, after sitting in the Pac NW you were very lucky to only have the small section of the flooring to replace.
The axle replacement for Scamps is normally a Dexter Torflexand you'll need to make several decisions such as determining the down/up angle you want to order and whether you want to install bolt on brackets or just weld it back. On my 13 I actually turned all the axle issues over to a seasoned horse trailer shop and let them handle all the ordering/install. I'm sure if you call Dexter you will be able to order just the pieces you will need and determine which axle, etc. Also Scamp Trailers has been helpful for many folks over the years in providing replacement axle guidance if you call them. They used to stock and ship the axles but it was a bit pricey when I did my 13 vs the other way I went.
The Swamp Thing looks normal.
What did you use to clean it?? All by hand, or mechanical?
How is the chalking on the gel coat?
