2014 Scamp Camp SW - Christmas in Sedona

2014 Scamp Camp SouthWest - Christmas in Sedona

Dates: Friday, December 12, 2014 to Sunday, December 14, 2014

Location:  Sedona Arizona @ Rancho Sedona RV Park

Make your plans for this SOI drop-in gathering to get in the Christmas spirit.  All are welcome!  This is the 2nd Annual ScampCamp Southwest - Christmas in Sedona Gathering.  In the heart of Sedona, AZ, are shops and galleries at the quaint Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village.  Every year they hold the Festival of Lights. This year the festival is scheduled for Saturday, Dec 13 from 3-8p.m. The event has great Christmas shopping, multiple bands and musicians performing, a visit from Santa Claus, free cider, and lots of Christmas lights.  At 5 p.m. all in attendance begin to light the over 6,000 luminaries that surround the village.

The nearest campground is called Rancho Sedona RV Park. For reservations, please call (928) 282-7255 or Toll Free: 1(888) 641-4261. **Choose Sites within the loop that have the bathrooms, Sites # 15-36** We do not pack the schedule full of SOI activities beyond Meet and Greet, as the Festival of Lights all-day Saturday is loaded with activities.   If you are able to attend, please let us know by either replying here via the SOI Forum or by emailing your space # to info@scampcamper.com.  We hope you can join us!

Thanks!!

Thanks!  And, Greg, if you have time at Sedona, I'd love to spend a few minutes with you reviewing our "set up" to learn if I'm doing everything right and to learn from you, and other experienced Scampers!  We've had a pop-up and a Hi-Lo....but that was 25 years ago.  Now the kids are grown and I just retired (or semi-retired) and the wife and I are finally able to get back to camping and think this 5er will be perfect for our needs!

You're right, we are as excited as kids at Christmas!!  The Scamp is in Florida and we're in Colorado, and we expect to pick it up in about 10 days and start our initial "shakedown" trip back home!!!!  I'll get some pics uploaded after we return home.

Thanks, and see you in Sedona!!

Quite a Trip

You will have quite a shakedown trip. Keep us posted how everything goes.

Bob nBev will be at Scamp Camp and they could almost be classified as full-timers in a Scamp 13. I think we'll schedule an informal how to scamp session and by the time you pull out you should be armed with all kinds of tips and ideas.

Be safe on ur journey to bring the 5er home.

Sounds great!

That sounds like a great idea and opportunity for us to learn!!  We really are looking forward to the Sedona gathering.  We've never been there and it'll be our first opportunity to meet fellow Scampers!!  Can't wait for the fun!!!

I'll be anxious to get some experienced eyes on the Scamp to check everything!!  We haven't seen the Scamp, except in pictures, so we are hoping to have help giving it a thorough exam.  I expect to leave with a list of items to work on over the winter, i.e. re-pack the wheel bearings, modding the power cord/mouse hole, snap caps, LED lights, (and hope that all the windows are sealed well), etc.

Thanks again,

jim & ann

Christmas in Sedona

Hi -

We are new members of SOI. Just joined last week. We have made a reservation for the ScampCamp at the RV Park and are in Site 29. This will be our first event with the group and we are really looking forward to meeting everyone.

We have a 1996 16 ft Scamp and we tow with a 2007 Chevy Silverado Utah license plate Llama 1 ( we raise llamas). See you all in December!

Scamp Camp SW Update

We are adding two informal events to the Scamp Camp SW.

  • We will have the traditional Scamp Camp trailer tours on Saturday morning approx @ 10am for those that want to show off their trailers.
  • Immediately following the tours we will have some Scamping veterans available for an informal Q & A on the trailers and Scamping tips.

We now have all Scamp models that will be at the Scamp Camp SW.  If you are thinking of purchasing a Scamp and you are in the Sedona area at that time, you might want to come in to see the Scamps or join us for the weekend.

Of course, some goofy folks are bringing an Escape 17B wink, so everyone can see another brand of Molded Fiberglass Travel trailers. Escape Trailers are manufactured up North in Chilliwack BC and are very rare to see in AZ.  Everyone is always welcome at Scamp Camps regardless of trailer brand, etc.

Scamp Camp SW Update

I just talked with the Park and the only spaces left in the main Scamp Camp loop are on the #15-25 side. The right side of the loop is completely full.

Every Scamp Camp this year has been completely booked, so If you are wanting to come to Scamp Camp SW get your reservations in ASAP.

This is off-season in Sedona and the park is great at working with us so hopefully we can accomodate most everyone that wants to attend, but the main loop may be full soon and they'll be able to place you in two other sections until those fill up.

We'll keep you updated as we get closer.

Sorry!! Had to Cancel Our Reservations

Hated to have to do it but we won't be able to attend the Sedona CampOut this year.  Maybe some other time in the future.
