2000 Watt Generator Help Guide?

I am looking to power my 2013 scamp with the coleman mach air conditioner. I've been looking to see how to get the scamp set up for that. I see the honda 2000 watt seems to be the go to. What else do I need? My scamp has a 30 amp cord. Do I buy a 30amp to 15amp adapter since the honda only has 110v plug ins? Sorry if I have over looked this topic.

Thanks!!

I've wondered about this as well

I understand a soft start on the AC circut might help get the AC running on a 2Kw generator

Honda 2000....

The Honda 2200 has replaced the 2000. I have used mine for the Air as a test run and it worked fine, I have not run it long term on a 100 degree day. There are 2 types, I have the one with the 30 amp twist lock, but it is not 30 amp. It is made for running 2 generators to get the higher power. I just use it because it is a twist lock and it stays plugged in. You will still need an adaptor to get to RV 30 amp. (Playing with the t-stat will cause problems when the generator is under powered)

Thanks for the reply. Just

Thanks for the reply. Just want to confirm, I can plug the generator in with a 15amp to 30amp adapter? Like, is that acceptable? If this is the case, there are quite a few different 2000+watt generator that would work too right?

Yes but...

Running the A/C on a 15 amp outlet will test the limits. It may melt the 15 amp parts in the long term. I like the twist lock 30 amp plug even if it is not really 30 amps without a second generator.
