I ordered a new vent lid for my 19' Scamp, that is around a 1993 model. The old lid had a conventional hinge pop riveted on, and this new one has another style. How on earth am I supposed to make this work? I'm really getting frustrated with parts not working. I ordered a new electrical port too, and it was 1/4" bigger in diameter. Very frustrating!!! Any advice or help would be appreciated...
I just replaced two vent lids on my 97 with no issues, but you do have to be careful on ordering as there are different hinge setups on different years. Did you order the lids from Scamp? They usually are very careful on getting the right hinge setup for the replacement lids.
Just replaced the power cord inlet as well and was an exact fit, with rivet holes in same location. What Power inlet did you purchase and from where? This is the one I ordered. https://amzn.to/3vrKTTo

I had to shorten the crossbar that goes across inside the lid as well to fit the new lid, I used a hacksaw ,the crossbar that comes with the new lid didn't work with the existing crank.
I bough this Scamp because I was told they didn't leak , so far it has leaked from everywhere ! Go figure ! John C.
i just replaced this on my 1987. i would recommend returning that lid (or keeping for a spare) and buying the whole assembly and replacing that. i could not figure out of way to make it work, and didn't want to jerry-rig it up and have issues. you will want to order butyl tape from scamp as well (they sell it) and use that in between the escape hatch and fiberglass to seal it. i then used Dicor Lap Sealant on top to make sure it was all sealed and water proofed.

Finding Jensen no longer makes the vent lid or parts. Was a little frustrated because had just drilled out all the pop rivets put down butyl tape and re-riveted the whole vent down, the lid had a crack and it was dripping on my wife. A company called Hengs makes a replacement. It'll fit in the hole but the pre drilled holes do not line up. If you order just a Hengs lid the half of the hinge on it is completely different and will not work with the existing half. You could either remove the old hinge half from the old broken lid by drilling out the rivets and drilling new holes sealing up the old ones and pop riveting the new lid to the hinge half. If carefull it'll work. Or you could order the entire vent, drill out the old rivets and drill new holes , seal the old holes put down butyl
tape and pop rivet to roof, the problem here is the 30 some holes do not line up. 60 some holes is too many
Maybe Scamp has old Jensen lids? If they do please share. John C
yes i just replaced the whole thing with the larger hatch from Scamp Parts. i had to cut the fiberglass since it's larger but it wasn't a big deal.
