Our new Lance

Hello to my beloved Scamp family. It has been a long time since posting anything, and we miss all of you. Our new Lance 1575 has been a pure pleasure to get to know. The slide out is bigger than most 5th wheels. Features like a dry bath, oven, microwave, Jensen sound system , outside shower, one touch awning with LED light, marine grad speakers outside for the stereo system, full queen sized bed, and storage galore. The larger tires and beautiful mag type wheels make towing a breeze. A WDH was required and we got a great deal on one at the dealer. The outside is still fiberglass and new up to date construction. No wood is in this trailer. All lights inside and out are LED. Scamp could do well to upgrade to many of these features as not many have been incorporated since its introduction. We hope to again meet many of you out there this travel season. We just spent 9 days at Virginia Beach.

Actually have seen one last February at RV Expo

Hi Doug.  Actually saw the one you described a few months back.  North County RV handles Lance, so they had a few models on the floor.  I spotted what you had described with the side pull out.  It was indeed roomy, and standard models seemed to have a lot of bells and whistles, and yup, STORAGE galore.  Glad you and wife are enjoying.

We are off to Lanesboro (nearby) to bike and go to their rhubarb festival, a day back home, then off to Rushmore and Glacier.  this will be our long trip of the season since the rain will take care of garden up north.  Maybe the corn will be well on its way.  Frozen, it makes for a great traveling food/veggie.  Yea!  Barb/John

Congrats

Glad you finally got the new trailer. We had two Lance's at Quartzsite this year. Think they were both prior Casita owners.

Enjoy!

Thanks all, we made our first

Thanks all, we made our first long trip to Yorktown and Williamsburg VA and it was amazing friends   Our new tow vehicle is a brand new Ford F-150 and did well to tow our rig. The Lance held up well, and was a blast. Nice to now have such room in a small trailer!

Williamsburg

Doug, we are in the planning stages of a trip to Williamsburg in Oct. with our new Scamp 13. Do you have recommendations on campgrounds?

We stayed far too south of

We stayed far too south of Williamsburg and the drive was way too long. I would just search out campgrounds up in that area as there are plenty. We drove way too much, as long as 1.5 hours to see such sights. Traffic too was terrible.

Camp near Williamsburg

A few years ago, we stayed at CHIPPOKES PLANTATION STATE PARK, across the James River from Jamestown with a free ferry crossing. Not far from Williamsburg and an intersting historical site itself.

Lance

I believe that you also towed with a Ford Escape?  Are you towing the Lance with the same Escape as you were your Scamp?

our new tow vehicle

Yes, we towed our Scamp with a Ford Escape, however, we now have a full sized Ford F-150 to tow our Lance.
