Hi Nancy,
Congrats on your new 13!
In the Modifications table of contents there is a post on adding AC unit to window. It is done fairly often on older Scamps in window or bottom of closet. Recommendation to at least go 6000 btu as they are no larger than the 5000 but the 5000 is a bit light in hot weather.
This is a question that is asked on new builds all the time about whether to get the AC. I'm sure folks would be interested to hear why you decided not to get it and now want to add one in the window? Might help some with their decision process.

Thanks for feedback...reason I did not purchase the AC top unit is that my Scamp would not fit in my garage with it on.....plus $100 AC window unit is cost effective!!! nb

I had a hunch you might have needed the clearance.... Our 81 that had the window unit, I use to store in the garage as well.

We have a new Scamp 13' standard coming in March did not get AC because of weight on roof and hoping to get it to fit in my garage that is only 7 foot high. This being our first camper need the extra money for all the little extra stuff, also trying to keep it simple.
Have Scamp will travel !
