It probably depends a lot on where you live and when and where you'll be staying in the Scamp. In Arizona, my Scamp would be next to useless without the A/C, unless a person enjoys sleeping in a small space at 100 degrees or more. The older Scamp A/C is a Coleman and is really noisy, but it does a great job with cooling. If it matters, you might be able to get a 5000 BTU system that can be run from a generator. Much larger than that and it will draw too much power to use boondocking with a reasonably-sized generator.
