Where are all the Scamps going
Summer has several things to consider when camping, heat, humidity, grass cutting at home and kids at campgrounds. A lot of the older crowd say at home to deal with those summer issues. Things will pick up after school starts for the older/fiberglass crowd. I usually put my trailer in storage during the summer. Last year I ventured to Mich. in July. The weather was great but campsites were hard to find and the noise from the kids and more so the parents was never ending.

We just left Fruita Colo where we camped at the Colorado Monument and not only was it hot but the mothers screaming at their kiddies was a all day on goiing thing for the 6 days we were there,on the way home now and we are up in Flagstaff for a couple of days and much much cooler,at least 40 degrees cooler. We are in a KOA which I usually do not like but there are not many kids here and the ones that are,are being quiet.Maybe they have been brought up right

We're heading up to Nova Scotia with our 16' in mid August. We'll be traveling with our cousins from CA. We have a tent for them to sleep in and the front bunks available during bad weather. We all like sightseeing and the ladies love antique shops, while Tom and I prefer brew pubs. We're all looking forward to a great time.

Next weekend, August 6 weekend we shall be at Kentucky Lake State Park, as we have a family wedding very close. August 20'we depart for Hot Springs AR for a nice long vacation. We shall be right on Lake Catherine. We have a pontoon boat reserved for a fun day on the lake! Much to do there.

I leave on Sunday for Duluth and then on to Backus Minnesota on Monday. From Backus my first night in the new Scamp will be at Copper Falls State Park in northern Wisconsin. The trip is made a little bit more complicated due to roads that have washed out. Had hoped to go to Saxon Harbor on Lake Superior but the same heavy rain wiped it out completely.
Custom dictates new ships have a champagne bottle smashed on the hull. What is the protocol for christening a new Scamp? An egg would not be good for the fiberglass.

Just hit the frame near the very front with the bottle!

I would just throw an egg on it! Then, wash it off !!

Confratulations on your new Scamp and welcome to the egg head group. We have so much fun here and you will, learn so much. We share great ideas, tips, and fu routes. Be safe out there on those roads and don't take any chances on what may be washed out roads! Send pics of your new egg!

Just got back from a four month journey cross country from central Florida across route 10 with stops at the Grand Canyon, LA, Yosemite, Reno, Redstone Avenue of Giants, Oregon Seal Caves and to Spokane to see our daughter. On the way back to Florida we hit Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore. Scamp was great, no problems at all.
