Response to Gordon 2

Our older Scamp 13' is super lightweight: it is barebones, with NO amenties (such as AC, awning, refer).  Why did we use a TARP as an awning for 40 years?  Because a small tarp is quite inexpensive (you can get one today for ca. $5) and lightweight (I would guess ounces, not pounds).  Why have we now migrated to an awning?  As I mentioned, we have added a "VINTAGE" awning: it is part of our old Scamp's new retro look!  It too is quite lightweight (I would guess, a couple of pounds; with the poles, perhaps 5#).

Bare bones Scamp

when one is pulled out of the house, it's so nice to have a shower, potty, microwave, fridge, T.V. It's hard enough to leave a huge home, that when we are on the road at parked, we wish to have some comforts of home to enjoy it more.

Awnings

We personally did not like the look of the awning being on the trailer all the time,it looks pretty overwhelming for it to be there,I did go check out Marties site and those look really neat and we think its what we have been looking for.Havent contacted her yet tho,so have no idea of what the time line is to have one made

Awning

We were so delighted to find a Scamp that had all we were going to order. We saved 50% and it came with all we wished in a Scamp, including a awning. We use it and just love it. We have a day tent, a screen tent, but no need to bring them along, our awning serves us so very well.

We love our awning! It is

We love our awning! It is vitally important once set up at a campground, to get out of the Scamp. Under the awning sits a outdoor carpet, chairs, small table, XM radio, and of course..cold drinks! The awning provides shelter in rain, we cook under it, nap in comfy chairs under it. It does cool the Scamp nicely as well.

Awning

I am so glad we DID order a awning. Important to get OUT of the Scamp! The new Fiama awning is fantastic, cranks out nicely, and when cranking back, settles in tightly. We spend hours under it, and just love it. Glad we don't have to bring yet another piece of gear like a tent along.
