wheel bearings and axel
Tire ware could be as simple as bad tires or could be caused by a bad axle. First you need check for bearing play, then pull the hubs inspect and repack the bearings. Once you clean the bearings you can determine the bearing status. A 84 S-13 should be about due for an axle. Check the inner torque arm shaft at the end of your swing arms, a new axle the the inner shaft should point up, down, fore and aft. The more the angle the more worn the axle is.
Cost,: You will need to make some decisions. Are you going to replace your axle? (About $300 + $100 shipping +$150 brakes + $100-$150 welding cost , more to go with rear facing axle.) Are you going to change over to a rear facing axle? Are you going to go to a 5 lug wheel. (Need 3 new wheels. $150)(more than likely 3 new tires.) Or take the trailer to Scamp and have them replace the axle. The best deal if near the factory.

just ordered goodyear marathons 175/70/13 tire guy said he will have them next day. well surprise 175/80/13 came in. can i use them? is there enough clearance? some help please
Most likely if your axle isn't so shot that you don't have wheel well clearance issue with the additional 1 3/4" height. Who ordered and got the wrong item? If it's a tire shop take the trailer down there and have them check it out.

Factory will do,the complete axle job, and make modifications for future change out easier, at just $550.00! I would make the trip for that and more options as well. It's a fun trip and very worthwhile to get mods at the factory. I did and was so glad I did.

When you went to the factory, did you stay at any campground that was close? Will be heading that way soon just to have running gear checked. Thanks. Doug from Duluth.

My axle was fine, as I jack it up every winter to relieve the axle with jack stands. No, I took my trailer across the street to a gas station restaurant. They welcomed me to spend the night there for my early next day.
