News of the day is, we got the title in the mail today. Since the previous owner is deceased we didn't have any info on our new Scamp. Turns out its a 1997.
Wow what a find. I'd take 6 of them if you find anymore! I was going to guess mid-90's from the windows.
BTW, when I redid the Scamp 13, I bought my Rivet Snap Caps at Pro-Dec I decided to drill out all the rivets and replace them with SS bolts and nuts using butyl tape for a leakproof seal, but I still used the snap caps to trim them out on the exterior.
I see you are also a leading candidate for the Mouse Hole Power Connector modification! Of course, you'll need to get the existing mice to move out before you modify one of their ways back in.
Have you been able to determine the condition of the sub-flooring yet? That can be one of the problems with sitting neglected in the Pac NW for years.
Greg, I think it was your information I read on the mouse hole conversion. Already have parts on order. So the ss bolts. What size do I need to get? Would I have to remove the fur first? The caps still fit over the bolts? We were first going to try to clean the fur. The floor seems to be pretty good at first glance. One spot towards the right front has some damage. We are gutting the interior this weekend. It is missing the back seats. We want to covert that to a permanent bed with a really good mattress.
Most all of our rivets if I recall came through and held the cabinets both kitchen and overheads, so really didn't have any need to pull the liner in many places. I'll have to try and find my post on the SS bolts/nuts and bring it over since it was quite a bit ago. I think I used a combo of #10 and #8, mostly #10 and I had a real good supplier. Not a cheap mod vs the rivets though. The snap cap base goes right over the bolts same as the rivets and I wrapped butyl tape around the bolt before seating through the holes.
My understanding is that the rat fur will clean up very well. Maybe rent a hand steam cleaner for like draperies.
There is an outfit that has been making custom permanent mattresses for Casita Trailers for years that are very high quality and are tailored to fit the curves of the back of the trailer. Southern Mattress is the company, but not sure if they can do the Scamp Mattresses as well.
Did a little more cleaning on the outside and kinda took inventory on the inside. Not sure what we are looking at. Seems like some of the hoses were redone. Did they really use garden hose when they put this together? Any advice on replumbing? Seems like it would be a good idea using pex with sea tech quick connect. Also looking into the shower drain, I see the ground? It all seems a little overwhelming at this point. Finally has anyone had the inside of the door sprayed with white bedliner material after the fur is off. Thanks for your help.
Never have seen green garden hose in our Scamp, but it is a 2008. Check with the company about the garden hose issue. Hey maybe even a RV center to do some rebuild.mnot a bad idea given what you paid for it!

I'm anxious to see how this turns out. I know I went through a photo tour of a complete restoration and I was just worn out by looking at the photos.
