Greg - you mentioned using chlorine to maintain your fresh water tank. Do you have a regular routine for keeping the tank shipshape?
I do have a routine, but it is very similar to what you'll find recommended at a variety of places. Part of my trip preparation about a week or so out, is to fill the fresh tank about 3/4 full and put in approx a cup of household chlorine bleach. I do this even if I know we are heading on a trip with full hookups, because I like to have the trailer fully self contained for use while traveling to and from and lunch stops, etc. I was a lifetime backpacker and when I begrudgingly made the transition to my first egg trailer, it took a while for my brain to connect with the fact that I was basically pulling a big potty with us.
Continuing on with the routine, after putting in the bleach a week or so out, I run the treated water throughout the lines, fixtures, and the shower. Then I leave it set till trip time. As I drive the trailer back and forth(sloshing it in the tank) to storage lot to prep for the trip I continue to run some of the water through the fixtures and lines. Prior to leaving, I dump the tank refill with fresh run through all the fixtures, dump again and repeat. Then I fill and go.
I'm sure folks have as many variations to this task as there are ways to cook a steak. (We grill ours on a WeberQ with a salt and pepper rub) This is where I've settled in over the years and so far there has never been an issue. I will admit, like most seem to do, to bottled water for drinking, cooking and coffee making, but we use the tank water for daily chores, showers, etc.

I watched the video clip and have some warnings: (1) a lot of people don't use gloves but are careful and wash hands after and some use gloves BUT I have watched both types contaminate their areas by touching the water spouts, cargo areas when loading the slinky and even door handles to their RVs with some having the opinion that bare hands are more likely to be washed. I worked in military dining facilities and even Tony's Pizza (manufacturer) and clean hands are embedded in my brain. (2) This is important in the extreme, I have seen many people leave their site and stick the slinky on the fresh water tap and rinse it out. We usually sanitize the water spout and run the water a bite before hooking up.
We get boxes of gloves from either JeffersPet or Amazon for less than $10 for a box of like a 100 which is much cheaper than buying just 10 at a time. Amazon has different sizes, XL for husband and M for me. I like to keep them in the glove compartment of the car also. I am very "just in case". I think I have a couple in my purse too.
When I see someone stick their slinky on the fresh water spigot, I just want to.................. You can get sick enough to die from someone doing that.
Bleach? Don't leave home without it.

Great tips. One area Cathy points out that never occurs to many folks is to sanitize the fresh water spouts when arriving at a campground before you put your fresh water line on. Lots of things go on with those spouts from slinky rinses to maintenance crews.
I second all of her recommendations, and order our gloves here as well.

This is why we bought a Rino Flex hose and Y connector from Camping World. The new hose is dedicated to fresh water, and another new Rino Flex hose for the black water. The new hoses have connectors on them at each end for the Y connector. We keep the original hose for the Scamp in its holder for just in case, but now rarely used. Our new Rino Flex hoses are kept in a large plastic container with lid.

Rhino's are good sewer hoses.

Everyone should also make sure they are carrying one of these as some parks require them to hook up to their sewer.

I agree with all the good tips above. I also:
1. Use the white hose for drinking water only and a seperate green garden hose for dump station use.
2. I carry a spray bottle with Clorox in it to spray on all water faucets before I hook up to them, even the dump station faucet.
3. I carry the waterless hand cleaner, paper towels to wipe it off, then follow with hand sanitizer before getting into the car.
Yeah, some people are real slobs when it comes to using the dump station. That also applies to those campgrounds with water spigots that serve many camp sites.
