$.98 a Gallon

Filled the truck up tonight and with the grocery store points got the gas for $.98 a gallon. 18 gallons for less than $18! surprise

I was trying to remember how old I was last time I paid that for gas, but the memory won't come..... so I guess it was a long time ago. The biggest expense for full-timers is fuel which is why they start staying put for longer periods. Time to get out with the trailers and go,go,go. I'm sure this will be a short window of opportunity that we'll all look back on and regret if we don't take advantage.

If the gas stays this low going into selling season, my thoughts are that used trailer prices will be very high this spring and summer.

In Kansas

We had a lucky week with gas since my husband used all the points from Dillon's filling the van ending up with $1.19 a gallon.  My new used vehicle left the dealer with about 7 gallons of gas and all the points used up.  We went in to pick up a few items at Dillon's and she said "Because you are one of our best customers, you just received 500 points (.50 off per gallon) bringing the cost down to $1.29 a gallon.   So, both vehicles are full of gas and snow/freezing rain is expected in a couple of days.  I hope these prices or similar ones hold out through the year as I think it is such a boost to our economy.  Airstream is adding on to their facility and claim to be selling 50 units per week!  Sometimes though I think many people are becoming nomadic rather than just seeing an RV as a tool for vacation/weekends and such.

With the best customer thing at the grocery store, that just proves we eat too much!

I remember when I was in elementary school, the little store on the corner in our village of 75 people had a sign and I always remember 19 cents a gallon being on that sign.  Long, long ago...........

$1.28 a gallon

Last week while Scamping around the panhandle of TX, Northern NM and Northern AZ (during an unseasonably warm period) we saw $1.28 at one station!  Even tho we had recently filled up for $1.49, we just had to go around the block and fill back up with 2.4 gallons just so we could brag about it when we get home. LOL

Love these Scamp-abouts...we always see something cool...price of gas, buffalo, etc.  sigh...afraid this Scamp-about is about over.   BUT   :>)   at least I know that Bevie will start prepping the Lil Critter for the next one the first night we get home.

Love that gal!!!

Gas prices

i talked to a owner and jobber of gas at Phillips Conoco stations he owns. He informed me that gas would be below $2.00 for,the remainder of the year! Great news for Scamping for sure!
