Marilyn B - we haven't done any modifications to our 13' Scamp - just the standard layout with toilet/shower and larger bed. I'm interested in your idea of making a U-shaped set up. Do you have any pictures of what it might look like? Sounds like an intruiging idea to creat more space.
Check this website - http://bettatalk.com/improving_houdini.htm for the table versus U-shaped seating modification. The gal has a 13' FunFinder and has pictures and instructions. One advantage the Scamp has is a straight back wall versus the slanted wall of the FunFinder so the U-shaped seat should be more comfortable in the Scamp. I've checked enough camper listings to know that I need to save the original Scamp table intact so I don't hurt resale value.
Has anyone with the larger bed made the cupboard openings bigger (in the ones beside the bed)? It seems like there is a lot of unused space in there. Would it weaken the structure of the camper too much?

We were wondering the same thing. Will be interested to see what you find out.
