My First Sighting Of A Molded Fiberglass TT

I often think about the first molded fiberglass trailer that I saw.  I didn't see the inside but we had a snowbirding neighbor in AZ that arrived with what had to be the 13' Scamp with very little inside as it was being towed by a Ford Pinto Wagon.  I did make a comment about how it towed and she said it did just fine coming from Wisconsin.  I am still puzzled to this day by the rig.  This was in the early 90's.  I was so fascinated by it as I had never seen anything like that in my whole life!  I did see a Scamp 5th wheel parked in at an RV park we were at in AL a few years ago.  I often think the little trailers are sort of like leprechans.

Sxamp sightings

I truly feel there is almost a cult following of Scamp trailers. Their appeal is unmatched. They tow wonderfully, and so easy to get into a parking spot at camp sites. We feel it's about where we are going and what to see more than where we are staying in. The Scamp does a marvelous job for the two small of us! Mileage suffers little towing the Scamp. We get adoring looks, and folks really want to see inside. We parked next to a giant 5th wheel trailer, and the man owning it was so taken with our Scamp, he told his wife that he wanted to get rid of the big rig and get a Scamp! It's infectious!
