I just replaced my tail lights with LEDs, and was trying to get the side markers to work. Looks like they were fed from the green wire from the plug.. They didn't come on. Later while I was washing the Scamp, all four lights came on. There is no battery present and it wasn't plugged in to the truck, so I'm assuming the power panel has a 12v converter. The main power panel under the bench has AC breakers and DC fuses, and a small fan in back, but I can't see the ID plate on the bottom. Phone won't focus on it. Maybe a mirror? .It is plugged in to shore power to run lights and dehumidifier while I'm working on it. But why shore power would turn on the clearance lights doesn't make sense. Does anyone have schematics? I'm stumped.
( I also want to add some 12v lights and this will affect that decision.)
I pull an '05 13 footer. I'm going to attach the schematic that came with the factory paperwork for mine. In addition, I made a table that reminds me how my particular trailer works. Down toward the bottom of the chart is the line that shows the 12V devices do work when there is no battery and there is shore power. The SP feeds the converter, and the converter supplies the 12V.
The fact that the running lights came on only when you were washing the trailer would make me suspect a ground issue. My first thought is that the ground is faulty when dry, but the water somehow completes the circuit? Chasing grounds is no fun, I wish you well.
Awesome, printed it out and will go ouot and see if it matches mine.
