New Scamp Lite

Just got our new Scamp Lite in Backus and brought it back to California with our 2022 Lexus 350h (hybrid) tow vehicle . I am available to answer any questions you may have.

Love it!

You picked the red bottom.  These things are so stinking cute.  I ordered mine this past Monday.  They say it will be ready about the 2nd week in October.  I will be making the trip to Backus from Louisiana.  So looking forward to getting it.  So tell us how does she feel?  The fun part will be personalizing it a bit.  :)  Congrats!  You picked a winner!

Feels great. Tows very easily, stands out from the crowd and is very quiet and comfortable inside. What color did you order?

White Scamp Bottom

My truck is white and I wanted it to match and so I went with boring white.  But that left me some money to add some other things I wanted.  Have you had any issues with yours?  I am crazy about this thing.  I've been camping every weekend since I picked it up.  Been spending time doing some personal touches and of course trying to get everything organized.  Overall I am satisfied, but a couple of screw came out, one is going to require a new door hinge.  I do like the colors on the bottom.  I sort of wish now I had done that.

Nice.  Love the custom color.  No propane tanks or do you remove them to use on an external stove?

Lite

Yeah, there is no stove, refrigerator or sink on the Lite models (which now are available in both 13' and 16'), so no propane tanks or water lines. Simple and light is the name of the game. We use a Coleman propane stove externally for cooking, collapsing bowls for dish washing and sani-pottie for over night. We plan to mostly camp in state and federal sites with bathrooms and showers. We just wanted a step up from a tent, and that's what these are and who they are designed for. We also wanted the lightest weight so our Lexus Hybrid could pull it allowing us to still get great mileage when not towing. Not for everyone, but there is surely a market for this and we are glad Scamp gets it!

I suspect eventually Scamp will offer the color options across the board since they are a $750 upgrade, but for now, they are only available on the Lites as a unique option.

question about storage

Congrats! Such a beautiful camper. We are the same. We already have camping gear and were looking for a step up from our tent. Do the under counter cabinets have shelves? We are expecting ours soon & were wondering about fitting our cooler there where the frig would have been in the other 13' model.

Thanks!

Yes, there is a midway shelf in there. Here is a video that shows the whole thing. Cabinet is opened around the 3.35 minute mark.

Now you have me 2nd guessing

Now you have me 2nd guessing if ours has the shelf. Our trailer is at the storage facility so I was just assuming based on that video. Will report back after I see it next time.
